We are your first address for high quality and handcrafted arts and craft from the region: hand-painted pewter figures and pewter pictures, high quality beer steins made of glass and ceramics, original cuckoo clocks from the black forest, lovely sculptures by Willow Tree, light-mills, felt products, crystal balls, music boxes and much more. For gifts with a personal touch we produce metal engravings in our own workshop.
The family owned company with tradition
Kunst & Handwerk is run as a family business in the third generation. Already during the Second World War, Hans Urban the grandfather of todays owner, founded a tobacco shop in Munich. The range of products included besides tobacco and newspapers, travel tickets and souvenirs. After his death his wife Paula took over the business.
In 1977 the company moved to the place where it is located today at the Viktualienmarkt. The same year Hans-Karl Urban took over the management from his mother. The assortment changed more and more to arts and craft until it was finally changed in 1986 completely. Since 1997 Peter Urban runs the business, founded by his grandfather, successfully.
